Akashic/Diplomancer type
Skinrider - a host for spirits who possessed him and whispered knowledge (CJM on OYT)

bard - Seriously, just change the flavor of the class abilities, and akashic makes a better bard. Rather than "drawing upon the collective memory of the universe," your abilities allow you to "draw upon your extensive powers of performance and mimicry." Instead of calling the ability "Delve Into Collective Unconscious", call it "Following the Tree of Stories" and make it an ability where the character runs through story after story in his head to create a gestalt image of events. A different variant on akashic memory abilities for a dwarf akashic. He had vials of distilled memory from various people. If he used his Injected Memory ability, he temporarily accessed the memories of the person whose essence he had around. The player is given a list of the personalities and names, and if they chose a particularly appropriate one, they got a bonus. A variant Akashic "distills" memory essence from corpses, and shoot it up. Like a drug.

Instead of consulting the Memory, he consults his Ancestors. Especially for giants, this fits into the themes of the Diamond Throne. 'Ancestors' are likely to have a bit more knowledge of the world now that they're dead, but they're not infallible and they're not omniscient; and having your long-dead great-great-great grandfather tell you about the spells he could cast while alive teaches you magic no more than having your grandfather tell you about being a WWII fighter jock will teach you how to fly a plane. And mysteries are a lot easier to keep mysterious.
- As a side note, it is also possible for an akashic to reach someone *else's* Ancestors. But doing so required knowing the person's truename and touching the person to summon the person's ancestor... who might be surprised, disturbed, or annoyed (or any combination of the three) to find some strange person rather intimately touching the Family Tree.
